三、教學目標 Objectives
本科目係語言學之基礎課程-英語語言學為主幹，目的在使學生瞭解英語語言學之基本內容以及語言之研究；學生可於本課程中學習到語言學之理論以及各種案例，同時用一種科學方法去思考語言，特別是英文。
This course aims to introduce students to the study of language. It will cover the major concepts of linguistics, from general linguistics to applied linguistics. After the course of study, students are expected to have a better understanding of what language is and how it works and be able to apply the knowledge to the study of English.
