三、教學目標 Objectives
This course will introduce students to the political, religious and social contexts of a wide range of literature written during the Victorian Modern periods. Having surveyed relevant background material, students will read some of the major novels, poetry and drama of the period so that they may be acquainted with a wide range of treatments of the big Victorian issues and the challenges modernity faces and the innovations and revolutions modernism has produced in response to the challenges.
