三、教學目標 Objectives
Students are expected to (1) familiarize the course texts as a critical reader and thinker, (2) participate the class discussion and individual/group work actively, and by the end of the academic year, (3) have an overall understanding of the convention and the new development of English prose. Students are strongly encouraged to share their thoughts with class members and to discuss any learning difficulties with the instructor; they are also welcomed to bring in or refer to additional books, newspaper/magazine articles, movies, or any other information that may be relevant to what are being discussed in class.

四、課程內容 Course Description
●整體敘述 Overall Description This course introduces English prose in various forms and contexts. The course will be proceeded by lecture, group discussion, presentation and writing short analyses and reading responses. Students need to familiarize with the texts and be willing to actively engage with in/after-class activities to explore and question issues and ideas that are widely discussed in literary study and criticism of prose. Absent for more than three times without any proper explanations will result in a fail of this course.
