三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程為上學期「英詩選讀」之延續。教學目標仍同,惟學生將被期待對英詩有更成熟的賞析能力。
This course is a sequel of last semester's Selected Readings in English Poetry. Our goal remains the same, and students are expected to gain more experience and confidence in appreciating English poetry.
四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
As in the last semester, students are expected to read in depth 3-4 poems each week. All the important topics in poetry will be further discussed, and students should be able to engage in a more critical reading of selected poems for the class. Although some major poets such as Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Blake, Keats, Dickinson, Frost will remain the focus of discussion, other poets, especially the contemporary ones, will also be read and compared with their forerunners.
