三、教學目標 Objectives
傳統經濟學的分析為避免過於複雜，均忽略「空間」的因素。近來已有眾多學者將空間因素導入，2008美國經濟學者克魯曼獲得諾貝爾經濟獎為此領域的研究受到重視的明證，他所提出的新經濟地理學派理論(或稱新國際貿易理論)不僅在此領域有極大的貢獻，後續研究者也已經將其理論拓展到國際貿易、公共經濟學、經濟成長等領域，為目前學術研究上極為熱門的理論。本課程的內容重點即為詳細介紹上述克魯曼的新經濟地理學派理論，此外，尚包括都市空間分佈極為重要的土地使用理論以及都市內無法忽略的都市交通問題等。
The analysis of traditionally economics neglects “space” to avoid complexity. Nowadays many economists have introduced “space” into economic analysis. The Nobel prize winner in economics in 2008 for Paul Krugman is a proof for the concern on this field in public. The New Economic Geography (or New International Trade Theory) by Paul Krugman has made great contributions not only in regional economics but also in international trade, public economics, and economic growth. This theory has attracted many scholars and researchers. This course provides the detailed context on the issues of New Economic Geography. In addition, we also introduce land use theory which is important for urban spatial distribution and issues of urban transportation problems.
