三、教學目標 Objectives | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
本課程介紹各科學與技術領域諾貝爾獎(數學系則為Fields Medal)的故事,幫助學生了解科技對於人類生活的貢獻及其潛在議題,由理學院數學、物理、化學、微生物與心理系的老師合作授課,協助學生由各科學與技術領域的傑出貢獻,去了解科技的視角,希望幫助學生熟悉科技的視角。課程特色: 1. 由五位不同科系的老師介紹其相關領域的諾貝爾獎獲獎主題與得獎者,其研究發展過程的故事,科學思維的方向與解決問題的努力方式,及其對於人類生活的貢獻 2. 修課同學探索尋找一個自己希望為別人解決的問題,以科學家實事求是的精神,為這個問題尋求具有證據、有根據的解決之道,提出一個務實而完整的方案企劃。 希望同學能以愉快的心情學習數學的素養。 |

This course tells the stories of various Nobel Laureates (or winners of the Fields Medal for Mathematics) in science and technology to enlighten their contributions as well as potential issues for human life. It is taught by professors form the Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Microbiology and Psychology Departments of the College of Science. This course helps students to acquire the perspectives of science and technology through the understanding of these distinguished works of different areas. There are several important features of this course: 1. Five professors from different departments introduces the Nobel award topics and findings, how these research develops, the scientific thinking, problem solving efforts and the contributions to human life. 2. Students will propose a problem that they are to solve for themselves or others. They are expected to adopt an evidence-based approach to devise the solution(s) for this problem. The solution should be well-planned, practical and comprehensive. The goal is to make the students develop the sense of mathematics happily. |
