思維方法的基本精神著重在:如何有效分析資料與運用訊息,透過正確的推理或推論,進一步得出結論、作出決策、並採取行動。這個「前提—推理—結論」的過程,我們可以把它簡稱為推理的過程或論證的過程。我們每天都要面對無止境的推理過程(因為我們每天都要面對許多選擇,並採取許多行動),人的一生當中更要面對許多關鍵的推理過程(因為人的一生總有許多困難的抉擇與重要的決策)。學習正確的推理,將能引導我們突破困難,為我們的人生作出最重要、最關鍵的決定。這門思維方法的課程,目標的設定就在於:揭示有效適當的論證形式,提出正確推理的規範原則,鑑識不當違規的推理謬誤,培養熟悉靈活運用推理的能力與藝術。 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The underlying idea of the Principles of Reasoning is about how we should bridge the analysed data, on the one hand, and reaching conclusions as well as taking actions, on the other hand. This process of `Premise-Reasoning-Conclusion’ may be simply called the Process of Reasoning or the Process of Argumentation. It is clear and distinct that we have to engage in numerous Processes of Reasoning, given that every day we have to face an abundant number of choices and taking actions according to some of them. Moreover, in the course of life, human beings need to engage in some crucial Processes of Reasoning. Studying the Principles of Reasoning will help us overcome some difficulties when we are about to make the most important and the most crucial decisions of our lives. The aims of this course are as follows: to show which argument forms are valid and appropriate, to demonstrate the normative principles for correct reasoning, to identify fallacies in reasoning and to develop the ability of correct reasoning. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

●整體敘述 Overall Description 本課程第一週(2月21日)為思維方法導論,最後一週以抽象推理測驗(ART)作為學期成績考核。其餘各週由任課教師依班級特性調整教學內容與進度。課程內容如下: 1. 什麼是推理?何謂論證?如何批判思考?為什麼要邏輯? 2. 推理的終極難題:弔詭! 3. 如何做出一個好的推理(或論證)? 4. 如何鑑識謬誤? 5. 推理的原則:三段論證 6. 推理的原則:自然演繹 7. 推理的原則:歸納法 8. 道德推理、實踐推理、因果推理、最佳說明的推論 9. 抽象推理測驗(ART) 1. What is reasoning? What is an argument? What is critical thinking? Why do we need logic? 2. The Paradoxes 3. How to make a good reasoning (or a good argument)? 4. How should we identify fallacies in reasoning? 5. Principles of Reasoning: Syllogisms 6. Principles of Reasoning: Natural Deduction 7. Principles of Reasoning: Induction 8. Moral Reasoning, Practical Reasoning, Causal Reasoning, Inference to the Best Explanation 9. Abstract Reasoning Test |
