三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程期望能使學生經由生醫物理、生醫工程領域的期刊論文來了解應用科學的研究方法,這門課程特別適合畢業後有志於在生醫界工作研究的學生。
To be exposed to the means of research via the applications of physics to biomedical discipline. This course is recommended for majors considering graduate study in biomedical field.
四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
This is a one-semester course intended for students interested in moving on for graduate study in applied physics. Note that this course does not emphasize on building solid knowledge on biomedical physics. Instead, bio- or medical- applications are only the means to demonstrate how physics can apply to multidisciplinary research, and how steps are taken in conducting research as such. The particular materials that we study in this course are the following:
1. Basic research skills:
a. Scientific journal article search
b. Computational programming
c. Presentation in English
d. Scientific writing
2. Principles of medical imaging modalities:
a. MRI
b. Ultrasound
c. CT
d. PET
3. Other medical equipment
4. A hand-on project is required for every student.
Lectures will be given in English.

期刊論文書面報告132%Each student will read a biomedical related journal article and submit a term report.
期刊論文口頭報告140%Each student will read a biomedical related journal article and gives an oral presentation.
參與115%Each student must participate in class discussion. Score will be made based on the number of questions asked during peer studnets' oral presentation.
