三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程旨在介紹如何運用政治學基本概念來探討不同國家的政治運作過程及其影響。透過以區域(region)為單位，輔以個案介紹方式，提供修課學生能對不同政治制度和各國政治有基本認識，能以此思考和比較不同國家的運作方式和政策結果。

本課程將介紹四大區域(Europe, Russia and Slavic Europe, Asia, and Latin American)的政治發展和現況，並以英國、德國、法國、俄羅斯、中國、日本、印度、墨西哥為個案介紹進行深入探討，期提供修課學生能運用理論概念來比較和分析不同國家政治運作下特殊政治、社會和文化情境為何，以及跨國間有何共通之處，並能基於此對本國的政治制度和運作有更深層的認識。是以，本課程預期修課學生得以：
1. 認識不同國家的政治制度、政治運作和政治文化與行為的趨勢
2. 能以區域性的視野來比較和評價不同政治制度的運作及其政治影響
This course aims to introduce the basic concepts of political science to explore the political process and its impact in different countries. This course will introduce the political developments and current developments in the four regions (Europe, Russia and Slavic Europe, Asia, and Latin American) and will be presented in the UK, Germany, France, Russia, China, Japan, India, and Mexico in-depth discussion. By looking at different region as a unit and the country as case study, students are able to apply concepts and theories to compare and analyze the special political, social, and cultural contexts of different countries and political results. Therefore, this course aims to provide students with the ability:

1. To understand the trends in political operations and behavior in different countries
2. To compare and contrast the operation of different political systems and their political influence in a regional perspective

報告 30%分組課堂報告:依據授課人數進行分組課堂報告。報告主題和方向會於第一週上課說明。作業內容包括三項:1.與助教針對報告內容進行討論(10%) 2. 報告投影片 (10%) 2. 課堂報告(10%)
