三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程主要以介紹西方古典及近代哲學思想為主。藉由對西洋哲學的認識，一方面使學生熟悉哲學基本概念以及培養基本的哲學論述能力，另一方面則使其能掌握西方近代思想與古典哲學之聯繫。此外，在近代哲學方面，本課程將著重探討近代契約論的主要思想。
This course will introduce classical and modern philosophical thoughts. By focusing on these thoughts, we will lead the students to get a preliminary recognition of the conceptual framework regularly put to use by philosophers. Moreover, we will emphatically ask the students to cultivate themselves to be capable of critical thinking and philosophical argumentation.
四、課程內容 Course Description
●整體敘述 Overall Description
課程中，每星期將以下列主題為主要探討路線：
一、古希臘哲學思想：
1）前蘇格拉底（先蘇）時期哲學：米利都學派、依利亞學派、畢達哥拉斯學派、原子論（三星期）；2）蘇格拉底（一星期）；3）柏拉圖（二星期）；4）亞里斯多德（二星期）
二、近代哲學：
5）笛卡兒哲學（二星期）；6）馬基維利（一星期）；7）霍布斯政治哲學（二星期）；8）洛克認識論與政治哲學（二星期）；9）盧梭政治哲學（二星期）。
