三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程介紹並討論幾個自由意志問題的重要議題，包括：決定論的兩難論證、相容論、不相容論、自由意志主義、其他可能性與責任。這門課的主要目標是讓學生熟悉當代自由意志研究中的重要概念、術語與論證。在完成本課程之後，學生將被預期能夠掌握並評估相關議題中的核心論點與論證，進而具備修習相關進階課程的能力。
This course is designed as an introduction to some major issues in the free will problem: the dilemma of determinism, compatibilism, incompatibilism, libertariankism, alternative possibility and responsibility. Its objective is to familiarize students with some fundamental concepts, terminologies and arguments in recent researches. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to identify central issues or debates in the free will problem, articulate and summarize major arguments of these issues, and take some related advanced courses.

●整體敘述 Overall Description
本課程介紹並討論幾個自由意志問題的重要議題，包括：決定論的兩難論證、相容論、不相容論、自由意志主義、其他可能性與責任。這些主題可以分成兩個面向：自由意志與決定論、以及自由意志與責任。在期中考前，我們討論自由意志與決定論之間的關係、以及不同陣營的論述；在期中考後，我們將聚焦在自由意志與責任之間的關係，特別是關於其他可能性原則的爭論。
這門課的主要目標是讓學生熟悉自由意志的形上學討論，在完成本課程之後，學生將被預期能夠掌握並評估自由意志、決定論、以及責任三者之間的關係，進而具備修習相關進階課程的能力。
