三、教學目標 Objectives
有機化學是微生物系同學學習化學相關知識的基礎核心課程，其課程內容涵蓋有機化學的基本觀念和應用介紹，故本課程的教學目標旨在傳授微生物系同學應該具備的有機化學觀念。有機化學是研究含碳物質的科學，包含其官能基與反應機構。本學期主要介紹有機化學的基礎原理和用來結構分析的工具及光譜判讀原理。另外也介紹生命科學中重要的有機巨分子。天然有機物的個案介紹也是本學期的重點，期待修習的學生能從化學的角度瞭解生命運行的基本模式，並從一些重要的天然有機物研發的過程介紹獲得印證。
Organic chemistry is an essential course for students. The content of this course covers the basic concepts and application of organic chemistry. Organic chemistry is the science of carbon-containing substances, including their functional groups and reaction mechanisms. This semester, the course presents the basic principles of organic chemistry and the tools used for structural analysis, and the principles of the organic spectrum. In addition, the course also shows essential organic macromolecules and natural organic substances in life sciences. Expectedly, the students will understand the primary operation mode of life from chemistry and get confirmation from the introduction of some critical natural organic substances research and development processes.

課程內容為促進學生能對有機化學課程的基本認識，將就基礎觀念的定義、原理和應用進行統整講授。
授課方式包括：
1. 範例練習題及其例題之講解
2. 教科書之課外閱讀之討論與講解
3. 教科書之課本練習題之隨堂測驗
講授內容包括：Families of carbon compounds, acids and bases, alkanes and cycloalkanes, stereochemistry, nucleophilic reactions, alkenes and alkynes, NMR and MS spectrometry, radical reactions, alcohols and ethers
