三、教學目標 Objectives
什麼是一個好的推理與推論?什麼樣的推論犯了什麼謬誤?謬誤的種類有哪些?一般而言,我們會認為符合「邏輯」的才是一個好的推論,所有的謬誤推論都是不符合邏輯的推論。但是,邏輯是關於句子或命題之間的關係,而推論是形成信念或修改信念的一種心理過程。所以我們會面臨一個問題:在什麼意義下,邏輯會規範什麼是正確的推論? 在這堂課中,我們將探討幾個對於邏輯規範推論的經典反例,並嘗試提供一個區分推論好壞的判準。
What counts as a good reasoning or a good inference? What kind of fallacies are involved in a problematic reasoning? How should we distinguish different kinds of fallacies? In general, we tend to think that if an inference is in accordance with logic rules, it is a good inference. Problematic inferences are those which violate logic rules. However, logic is about the relation between sentences or propositions and inference is about how we revise beliefs and
form new beliefs. Thus, we cannot avoid the following question: In what sense, logic is normative for reasoning or inference? In this course, we shall investigate several classic examples against the view that logic is normative for inference and try to provide a criterion which distinguishes good inferences from others.
