三、教學目標 Objectives
本課程之目的在於讓學生具備從句子到段落的基本英文寫作技巧。複習既已習得之文法知識後,學生將學習如何將多個意念在不僅文法正確,且長度較長的複合句構中呈現。學生也將接著學習如何將句子組織成表達清晰、前後連貫、題旨一致的段落。
This course aims at enhancing your writing skills. You will develop a better understanding of your ideas by putting your thoughts on paper in a productive way. You will learn to analyze your peers’ written work and provide constructive feedback on it. You will learn to pay specific attention to the purposes behind different types of writing and how these purposes contribute to the effectiveness of the writing. Ultimately, you will learn to write more effectively and more persuasively.
The objective of this course is to prepare students for basic English writing skills from sentences to paragraphs. After reviewing grammar knowledge that you already possess, you will learn to express more than one idea in not only grammatically correct, but also longer, compound and complex sentences. You will go on to learn how to organize effective sentences into clear, coherent, and unified paragraphs.
四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
In class, you will learn the skills of academic writing, including academic vocabulary, grammar, and different formats. Your works may be presented to the class as teaching materials, and you will be discussing your works with your peers, be it in class discussion or through peer review. You are required to keep a journal every week. Each week you will be given a topic which will contribute to your final project.

出席 5%You may take leave three times, including medical leave, during the semester without penalty. However, starting with the fourth absence, I will deduct two points from your final grade for each missed class. Please note that if you are more than 15 minutes late to class, I will list you as absent.
平時作業 45%Please upload each assignment to TronClass. Late assignments will automatically lose ten points (the equivalent of one whole letter grade) each calendar day (not class meeting) they are late.
學期報告 20% 
課堂參與 30%Oral presentations (please upload your PowerPoint to TronClass on the Sunday before your presentation), also include discussions, pop quizzes, in-class writing or activities, peer reviews, etc.
