三、教學目標 Objectives
提高學生的實際業務相關通信技能。灌輸適當的道德和禮儀。增加學生對問題的認識和特殊需要的業務夥伴和關係。在今天的第三次工業革命中, 接觸和瞭解他們 (學生) 自己的潛在未來, 並規劃相關成果。跨文化意識的培養。培養學生的能力去創建和運行他們自己創業或仁慈的社會服務以英語為母語的社區。
To enhance students’ practical business-related communications skills. To inculcate appropriate ethics and etiquette. To increase students’ understanding of the concerns and particular needs of business partners and relationships. To understand their own potential futures in today's Third Industrial Revolution and plan relevant futures and outcomes. To develop cross-cultural awareness. To develop students’ abilities to create and run their own start-up business or benevolent society servicing an Anglophone community.
四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
In the beginning of term, students will learn how to do Q&A and properly meet and greet in a business or casual setting. Next, you will each take up a role in a venture capital game, learn to make and present a company profile, do appropriate research and make a simplified business plan. Students will create a foundation or company or club, decide on the organization's MISSION, then go out and make it happen. Students will video themselves engaged in this work to ensure that it expands English-speaking opportunities, business language and pragmatics, and engages with the Anglophone community on both SCU and other university campuses. Students will also read and discuss assigned portions of Jeremy Rifkin's work on current and developing trends in economics; students will work to incorporate understandings from Rifken into the final company/club/foundation presentation. Every 3-4 weeks, students will present on their progress, goals and strategies which reflects out-of-classroom required work (homework). Students will then apply the knowledge attained in this class to personal futures (Future Me) and present their Future Me in a well-researched powerpoint demonstrating what they have learned and accomplished over the term. Language and pragmatics will be emphasised repeatedly over the term, helping students foster real-life, immediately-applicable skills for the international business. environment.
