三、教學目標 Objectives |
本課程之教學目標為透過經典作品閲讀提供英文系大一學生有關西方文學之背景知識。 |
This course is aimed to familiarize students with some of the most important classics that characterize the western literary tradition. |
四、課程內容 Course Description |
●整體敘述 Overall Description Students are required to engage in a systematic study of western literary classics on a weekly basis. Each week students are expected to read in depth 10-15 pages, and the required readings roughly cover the period from the Roman Empire to the Renaissance. Major authors to be discussed include Virgil, Ovid, Augustine, Boethius, Dante, Boccaccio, Chaucer, and Petrarch. |
