三、教學目標 Objectives
This course, ushering students to the dawn of Western literature, aims to familiarize students with the Bible, Greek mythology and classical masterpieces recurrently alluded to in modern literary works. Through reading the required texts, students can better understand the Western humanist tradition and learn how to read a literary work critically.

四、課程內容 Course Description
整體敘述 Overall Description
This course introduces students to the history and canons of Western literature, following the Old Testament, Greek Mythology, epics and tragedies taught in the first semester In this semester, students will learn from this course not only the Greco-Roman, medieval and Renaissance literary texts but also literary techniques and motifs that recur in Western literature.
