| 「國學」一詞，古已有之。《周禮‧春官‧樂師》載：「樂師掌國學之政，以教國子小舞。」孫詒讓於《周禮正義》中疏云：「國學者，在國城中王宮左之小學也。」又謂「凡國子十三入小學，二十入大學」。然則，周代之「國學」，乃指國家承辦之「小學」（猶今所謂「貴族子弟學校」）。今所謂「國學」一詞，則肇端於西學東漸、文化轉型之歷史時期（與當時歐美西方文化所傳入之「西學」相對）；其定義，則衆說紛紜，莫衷一是。直至劉師培撰寫《國學發微》，「國學」一詞遂成國人對中華傳統文化學術之通稱。本課程分上、下學期進行，以我國古籍之分類、流傳及版本知識；研讀古籍、撰寫論文所需之各類工具書；漢字概說、四部概說及要籍解題等主題，依次講授，俾使學生能窺知國學之大概，以為日後鑽研之進階。 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
